Lyon`s team achieved a second valuable win this week. After surprising Manchester City with a 2-1 away visit to the start of the Champions League on Wednesday, the Bruno Genesio-led team defeated Marseille 4-2 at home this evening in the 6th round of the French Championship.
In the 27th minute, Hosem Aouar led Lyon ahead in the score. He entered the visitors` penalty area and sent the ball to the bottom left corner of John Pele.
Even before the end of the first part, the guests from Marseille leveled the score. After 39 minutes, Florian Toven received a pass to Lyon`s penalty area, sending the ball into the net. Six minutes after the break, Bertrand Traore returned Lyon`s advance with a nice goal, where he fired the ball masterfully after a solo action.
In the 61st minute Traore was 3:1 accurate with his second goal in the match. This time after the impact, there was also a rebound in the body of a Marseille player, which further hampered Pele`s guard and he failed to prevent the goal.
Traore also contributed to Pele`s fourth goal. In the 74th minute, Nabil Fekir scored a penalty kick that was awarded for a foul on Kevin Strootman against Traore.
In the 82nd minute, Marseille Clinton`s H `Jie reserve made a second pass to the visitors, and a minute later, Duje Galetta-King from Rudy Garcia`s team received a red card after stopping a dangerously attacked opponent.
Lyon is sixth in the 10-point standings, while Rudy Garcia`s players are fifth, also 10 points.
