Soccer picks Former Dunkirk president Squarnek faces a suspended 24-month prison term for misuse of assets, fraud, fictitious transfers and falsification of accounts.

insider predictions Former Dunkirk president Jean-Pierre Squarnec faces prison time. The Frenchman held this position from 2014 to 2022. The prosecutor`s office requested a 24-month suspended prison sentence and a ban on management activities for the 64-year-old functionary for misuse of corporate assets, fraud, fictitious transfers and falsification of statements.
In addition to Skuarnek, five more are accused in this case (they face a suspended sentence of 8 to 18 months - Sports) - accountants, shareholders and managers, including Edwin Pindi, the current deputy chairman of the board of directors of Troyes. The prosecution is trying to unite them into an organized gang.
In 2019, the club`s accountant reported that it was EUR350, 000 short of an audit by the Directorate Nationale de Contere des Conteres (DNCG), which has the power to impose sanctions on clubs from record of soccer insider predictions in debt, including relegation. Therefore, it was decided to issue fake sponsorship contracts backdated through Squarnek`s logistics companies, based in the ports of Dunkirk and Rouen. A decision on this case is expected in January 2026. Dunkirk currently plays in the French second division and ranks 10th.
