The head of Alpha Tauri, Franz Tost, admitted that the absence of a sufficiently experienced driver in the lineup could negatively affect the team`s performance in the new season.


In 2023, Yuki Tsunoda and Nyck de Vries will compete for Alpha Tauri, while former team leader Pierre Gasly has moved to Alpine.


Much will depend on how good our new car is. If the car performs well, then Yuki Tsunode should have enough experience to choose the right settings. The same goes for Nick de Vries.


If the car does not perform well, then we will have a big problem, because we will not be able to effectively develop a car that we know little about, with inexperienced drivers.


It will be difficult for us to determine what exactly the problem is, because feedback from the drivers in this matter is extremely important - thanks to it the engineers can determine the direction of work to improve the speed of the car. If both your pilots are not very experienced and there is a problem with the car, you can get lost, " said Tost.
