A court in Spain has filed a charge of assassination attempt against defender Ruben Semedo and ordered him to be detained without bail. The authorities in Lyria added that Portuguese football player Villarreal was also charged with violence, robbery, illegal detention of another person and illegal possession of firearms. Semedo testified before the judges on Thursday and left the room with handcuffs. He was arrested two days earlier with the suspicion of having tethered, threatened, and beaten another man last week. Authorities reported that he and the other two of his followers had held the man hostage. Semedo`s agents said he was considered innocent on all charges.
